She was born March 9, 1964 in Perry, Oklahoma as the second child of William and Shirley Passow. Raised as an army brat the family moved from base to base until settling in southwest Kansas, where she graduated from Sublette High School in 1982. She attended The University of Oklahoma where she met her husband, Jon. The couple was married in May 1986 and has remained together for 37 years. Lanette was a loving wife and great cook that shared many common interests with Jon including showing and racing the couples 1988 corvette. Lanette competed in The Sports Car Club of America Solo 2 Series. Racing first in class in 2002, Colorado region. Lanette developed symptoms of Huntington’s Disease in about 2007 and that disease resulted in her eventual residence in Hilltop Manor Nursing Center and death on December 11, 2023
Lanette is preceded in death by her father William J. Passow.
She is survived by her husband Jon A. Martin; mother, Shirley E. Passow and brother, Michael L. Passow.
A visitation will take place at 11 am, Monday, December 18, 2023 with a graveside service to follow at 1pm, both at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas, 67209.
The family has set up a memorial in her honor with Hereditary Neurological Disease Centre, 9300 E. 29th St N, Suite 350, Wichita KS, 67226.
