Lawanda B. King, age 95, spent her entire career as an LPN at Wesley Medical Center in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2019, in Shawnee, Kansas. Lawanda was born on August 10, 1923, in Salina, Kansas, the daughter of Claud L. and Bess (O'Kelley) Blevins. Survivors include: daughters, Cynthia Thomason and husband, Mulvane, KS, Kimberly Georges and husband, Shawnee, KS; grandchildren, Deborah Lezark-Franklin, Kristine Strouf, Matthew Georges, Kristen Georges, and Rachel Georges; and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral service 12:00 p.m. (noon) Wednesday, May 1, at Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel, 12100 E. 13th Street North, Wichita, KS. Private family burial will take place in Lakeview Cemetery.
