

The Rev. Leland E. Allen, 94, passed away January 1, 2016. Leland was an ordained Episcopal Deacon who served several area churches for the past 30 years. He served in both the Navy and the Air Force and was a survivor of WWII and Pearl Harbor. He was a Past Commander Wichita Olivet #12, Past Chaplain of Grand York Rite bodies, Past Patron of Rose Douglas OES #425 and Ninnecah OES #423, member of the Clearwater Lions club, Chaplain for Adult Care Centers, member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Assoc., and State Dad International Order of the Rainbow for Girls State of Kansas. He is preceded in death by wife, Roberta, parents William and Flora, brother Floyd Glenn Allan, and grandson Christopher Franklin. He is survived by sons, David (Sue) Allan and Robert (Feryl) Giesen, daughter, Charyl (Michael) Rutherford; grandchildren David Allan Jr., Laura Sue Prescott, J.R. Giesen, Edward Giesen, Perry Franklin, Michael Rutherford Jr., Michele Rutherford, and numerous great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Thursday January 7th at 1:00 PM at Resthaven Mortuary. Following funeral services and burial, an addtional service will be held at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church at 3:00 P.M.
