Lois M. Staats, age 101, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 27, 2023. Lois was born on April 30, 1922, to John and Martha Bruno in Omaha, Nebraska. She graduated from North High School in Omaha in 1940. She married the love of her life, Lawrence Staats, on September 6, 1942, at Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church in Omaha.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Lawrence Staats; son, Larry Staats; son-in-law, John Weaver; and brothers, Richard, Kenneth and Robert Bruno.
Survivors include: her daughter, Linda Weaver; daughter-in-law, Carol Staats; grandchildren: Lorri (Steve) Rostetter, Marti (Nick) Campbell, Trae (McKenzie) Staats, Tyler Staats (Chelle Talbot); 10 great- grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; 1 great-great- grandson; numerous nieces and nephews.
Lois loved all of her family and friends greatly and took immense pride in always caring for others.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 with family present. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 2 both at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita; graveside service will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Garden of Bruce Newton.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with Robert J. Dole VA, 5500 East Kellogg Avenue, Wichita, Kansas 67218.
