Lucille B. Sheahan, 95, departed from this life on January 21, 2025, at Mount. St. Mary Convent, Wichita, KS. Born on April 26, 1929, to Bernard and Anna (Depenbusch) Dick in Spivey, Kansas, and was the middle child of 11 children.
She married James (Jimmie) Sheahan on August 22, 1950, and celebrated a loving 52 years before his death in 2002.
Lucille and Jimmie are remembered well for operating the Tastee Freez on South Hillside in Wichita. In later years, Lucille enjoyed sewing, travel, genealogy research, cake decorating, gardening, and volunteer work. She remained active and engaged in her many pursuits until her health failed her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, and all her siblings, Lawrence, Alfred, Leonard, Henry, Angeline Ingram, Sylvester, Paul, Martin, Danny, and Doreen Reida. She is survived by her daughters Roberta Sheahan (Robert Carlson), Jovita (Larry) Mies, three Grandchildren, Michelle Vint, Brian Mies, Anissa (Robert) Gooch, four Great-Grandchildren, J.T. and Cannon Mies, Lauren (David) Whiteside, and Gabriel Gooch, Brother-in-Law David Reida, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary located at 201 S. Hydraulic, Wichita, KS 67211. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place at 10:00 AM Monday, January 27, 2025, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church located at 258 N Ohio Ave, Wichita, KS 67214. A private burial will be at St. Boniface Cemetery in Sharon, Kansas the following day Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
