Lucy "Lu" Miller

Miller, Lucy “Lu”, 100 of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 in Wichita. Lucy was born the daughter of Robert and Annie Waner on December 15, 1921 in Marion County, KS. Lucy graduated from Florence High School in Marion County. During her senior year she won a local beauty contest. Lucy and Paul Miller were united in marriage on July 2, 1949 in Wichita. Together they celebrated over 71 years of marriage before his passing in 2020. She was a very devout Catholic and knew no enemies. Lucy was raised in a rural environment and had a very strong work ethic. She was an excellent cook, providing very good meals for her family. During her later years she was very active in her church activities including the Altar Society and choir functions. Preceded in death by her husband Paul, her parents, and infant daughter, Julia Ann Miller, her siblings Sr. Madeline Waner, Leonora McLinden and Sr. Clarita Waner, she is survived by her children Paul D. (Marcia) Miller, Gregory A. (Collette) Miller, Philip D. (Evan) Miller, Marianne C. Miller, Daniel K. (Nechia) Miller, her siblings, Sr. Teresa Waner, Mildred Ball, Mary Jo Feist, Robert (Sharon) Waner and many grand, great-grandchildren and extended family. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at All Saints Catholic Church, 3205 E. Grand St., Wichita, Kansas 67218. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 1806 N. Oliver Ave, Wichita, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to All Saints Catholic Church c/o Altar Society.
