Maridell “Mez” Dreyer, born September 21, 1934, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the daughter of Lloyd Alexander Boles and Fern Boles Nichols, and a lifelong Christian whose faith guided her throughout her 91 years.
A proud lifetime member of Eastern Star Ivy Leaf Chapter #75, Mez lived a life marked by devotion—to her family, to her community, and to the simple joys that made her smile. She was preceded in death by her brothers John Boles and Henry Boles, as well as her beloved husband of more than 60 years, Calvin Dreyer. She will be laid to rest beside him, reunited once again.
Mez spent over 30 years working on and off at Boeing, balancing her career with raising three boys and attending beauty school, where she became a talented hairdresser. Her creativity extended far beyond the salon—she was gifted at oil painting, often capturing the world with a gentle, expressive hand. She also loved playing her organ, filling her home with music that reflected her spirit.
Her favorite things were the ones that brought her joy and connection: a bowl of ice cream, a lively round of beauty shop bingo, traveling in her RV, and spending winters as a snowbird in Quartzsite, Arizona. Above all, she cherished her family, who were the heart of her world.
Mez is survived by her sons Clint Dreyer, Del Dreyer (Gail), and Curt Dreyer (Enza); and by her grandchildren Lacey Laird (Patrick), Michael Dreyer, Devin Dreyer (Brandy), Chandel Baty (Dustin), Chase Dreyer and several great grandchildren. Each of them carries a piece of her love, humor, and resilience.
A service honoring Mez’s life will be held at Resthaven Mortuary & Cemetery, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209, on March 19, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., with a viewing prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Meals on Wheels, a cause that reflects Mez’s lifelong spirit of care.
