Broussard, Sister Marie, CSJ, age 92, entered eternal life Friday, August 27, 2010. She entered the Congregation of St. Joseph in New Orleans, LA, in 1938 and ministered as an educator for 47 years. Subsequently, she served her religious community as bookkeeper from 1987 to 2005. Sister Marie moved to Baton Rouge following hurricane Katrina and retired to the congregation's Wichita Center earlier this year.
In addition to the members of her religious community, Sister Marie is survived by one sister, Ms. Agnes Poche, as well as nieces and nephews. Wake, 7 p.m. Monday, August 30; Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, both at the Wichita Center of the Congregation of St. Joseph, 3700 E. Lincoln, Wichita.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated in Baton Rouge on September 8. DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary.
