Beugelsdijk, Marinus, 105, died Jan. 28, 2013. Marinus was born in Holland on July 1, 1907. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1956 with his wife and 6 children. He was a master carpenter working with wood during his working life, and became an artist and clockmaker after his retirement. He was also an accomplished musician, playing saxophone and clarinet in orchestras and dance bands. the walls of family homes are graced with his paintings. He will be sorely missed by his children, Ena Alvarez (Al), Rosa Myers (Marvin), Tony Beugelsdyk (Barbara), Francina Hale (John), John Beugelsdyk (Carole), Paul Beugelsdijk (Edie); 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Clazina; infant son, Marinus and grandchild, Jimmy Beugelsdyk. Marinus was a long time resident of Wichita, but in recent years resided first with daughter, Rosa, in Texas and more recent near daughter Francina in Oklahoma. Rosary and visitation Friday, Feb 8, 7 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11800 W. Kellogg, Wichita, KS. Funeral Mass Saturday, Feb. 9, 9 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Haysville, KS. Followed by graveside service at Resthaven Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his name, St. Lawrence Seminary, 301 Church St., Mt. Calvary, WI 53057.
