She married John H. Beat on June 8, 1954, and raised six children. As a homemaker, Mary Louise enjoyed taking care of her family. After her children were grown, she enjoyed pitching horseshoes, bowling, crocheting and putting together puzzles.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, at Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita. Rosary at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 23, followed by funeral mass at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Wichita.
Mary Louise is survived by her sisters Vera May, Martina Hilger, and sister-in-law, Luella Vaughan; daughters, Frieda Beat of Manhattan, Brenda Wasinger (Bob) of Wichita, Janet Scheidegger (Gary) of Berryton, Anita Pranter (Charles) of Wichita; and sons, Alan (Dianna) of Augusta, and Fred (Debbie) of Wichita; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John, of 60 years; sister, Elenora Lampe; brothers, Werner, Clifford, Edgar, and Ferdy Haukap.
