

Smith, Mary Lou, 93, data processor at Boeing and member of the Order of the Eastern Star, passed away on December 5, 2015. Mary Lou met her husband Ray in Wichita, Kansas. They were married on St. Patrick’s Day March 17, 1962 at Mary Lou’s home on Maple Street. They were married for 39 years and were blessed with a son, Larry; grandson, Raymond; and great-grandson Jacob. Ray was a Shriner for several years and during this time he and Mary Lou attended many events together. She and Ray loved to travel. Mary Lou and Ray bought their dream house on Herington Lake as well as a winter retirement home in south Texas. While they were still working at Boeing, they would spend the weekends adding to and remodeling their homes When they retired, they settled into their Herington home and spent the winters in their south Texas home. Mary Lou loved flowers, enjoyed cooking, attending volleyball and basketball games, entertaining guests, and she loved listening to Ray play his guitar and sing. Later in life she would love to spend holidays, birthdays, and other special occasions with Robyn, Troy, and their family that she lovingly called her “adopted family”. She had a lively spirit and was a loving and kind woman. She will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by husband, Raymond C. Smith; parents, J. Louis and Delia Crawford; son, Larry Legleiter; siblings, Loren Crawford, Nettie Skeeter, Malvern Crawford, and Carl Crawford. She is survived by grandson, Raymond Legleiter; great grandson, Jacob Legleiter. Visitation from 9-10 AM and funeral service 10 AM Saturday, December 12, 2015 both at Resthaven Mortuary.
