I just learned of Mike's passing & am deeply saddened.  He was a very kind man & I am glad I had the chance to know him & be involved in his care years ago.  He taught me alot about humility & to look at the positives regardless of the situation. My condolences to his family.  Thank you for your service & rest in peace my friend.  Until we meet again.

I hadn't talked to Michael in a few years and I was thinking about him yesterday. I picked up my tablet to email him that my chi!dren are grown and that my middle son is oin the militaryand for some reason I had a heavy heart without knowing he had passed. This truly breaks my heart. It was a pleasure taking care of him and I learned so much. It was an honor to know him.

It was an honor and a privilege to care for Mike at the veterans home, he will be greatly missed. Prayers and condolences for the family. I was very blessed to have known Mike.

I met Michael while we attended story hour at the Douglass Public Library in 1956. Even then his blue eyes sparkled with joy. He was such a happy, friendly boy.

Our paths happened to cross again in 2008. He was catching some sunshine by the door I was going through to visit my Dad. When he smiled hello that same twinkle was there. We became buddies from then on. Many hours were spent laughing and crying over the next few years. He delivered mail to the residents, sharing his sunshine on each one every day. 
Not all wounds occur on the battle field. His love for life and his faith that God had a reason for keeping him around was an inspiration to all. Michael was my Hero.

We met Mike while volunteering at the Veteran's Home.  We always enjoyed visiting with him.  He was very kind and caring.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time.

Mike has always been one of the people I have always admired most in this world. His life is a testament to how much courage, perseverance, and will, some people are capable of finding in themselves. I am grateful I got to know him and help raise his fine son. Today I pray for his family and friends and I must add a prayer of thanksgiving that he now WALKS with his maker for all time.

Mike will be missed! He was a awsome person and even though he was dealt a hard card to live his years in a Nursing home he was always thoughtful and caring of the other Residents and Nursing staff. We will all  remember found memories of smiles , laughs and a great man.
