Michael "Mike" Dennis Baldwin, age 77 passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025. He was born October 2, 1947 in Hays, Kansas and raised by his mother, Katherine Louise Kilian and stepfather, Frank Baldwin.
Mike attended Wichita Heights High School then enlisted in The United States Navy during the Vietnam War where he was stationed on a flight ship and had to work around Agent Orange then joined Naval Reserve until 1971. Initially after the Navy, Mike worked in concrete construction then proceeded to work in aircraft at Boeing as an Overhead Crane Operator. After retirement he worked at Gander Mountain in sales.
Mike met Pam Baldwin in the hospital as she was working as a Registered Nurse and they married December 3, 1977. Together they had 3 children: Shala Holman, Andrew Baldwin (dec) and Brad Baldwin.
He was an avid sports fan and really loved watching the Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs Kansas University sports. He enjoyed spending time with all of his friends here on his farm in Eureka.
Mike has always been a friend to all, never knew a stranger. Grandchildren meant the world to him. Early on he loved to have fun whether it was hunting/fishing, playing golf, or bowling. Many times Pam and Brad referred to him as the "Mayor" talking to one and all. He had a large group of friends here in Wichita and Eureka. He was a great husband and father and losing Andy was very tough on him for a very long time.
He is preceded in death by his son, Andy Baldwin; his stepfather and mother; his siblings, Stan Baldwin and Becky Baldwin.
Mike is survived by his wife, Pam Baldwin; his children: Shala (Nathan) Holman and Brad (Megan) Baldwin; his siblings: Marcie Bockman, Pam Martin and Chuck Baldwin; his grandchildren: Skylar Holman, Jensyn Baldwin, Rowyn Baldwin and Griffyn Baldwin.
A funeral service for Mike will be held Monday, July 21, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Rose Garden.
