Mont Clayton Draper III, age 86, passed away on February 7, 2021. He was born January 17, 1935 to Mont C. Draper II and Cena Christopher Draper in Kansas City, Missouri and was raised in Warrensburg, Missouri. Mont was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed. He was a Certified Financial Analyst and graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Finance and the University of Colorado School of Banking. Mont was also a pilot in the Army, loved flying as well as traveling with his wife Georgia, and all their friends, in their bus. He retired from Union National Bank as an Executive Vice President and owned M.C. Draper Capital Management until he retired in 2019. He served on various boards in Wichita including as President of Heartspring School, a leading provider of services and therapies for children with special needs, President of Botanica Gardens and also served on the Board of Directors of Hospice. Mont loved to share stories with his daughters and grandchildren about growing up in Warrensburg. His great grandfather, J.H. Christopher owned a resort at Pertle Springs, Mont loved playing there and at the "The Garden of Eden" with his cousins in Warrensburg. Mont's mother was an author and upon her death, Mont established the Cena Christopher Draper Memorial Fund at Trails Regional Library in Warrensburg. He was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife, Georgia. Mont is survived by his daughters, Tacy (Stephen) Slade, Cena (Reza) Eftekhar and Polly (Kenneth) Prendergast; grandchildren, Clayton (Heidi) Slade, Rachel (Ben) Reynolds, James Slade, Alexander "Alex" (Tessa) Eftekhar and Mitchell Eftekhar; and great grandchildren, Erik Slade and Charlie Reynolds. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to either the Cena Christopher Draper Memorial Fund at: Trails Regional Library, 432 North Holden Street, Warrensburg, MO 67093, Heartspring, 8700 East 29th Street North, Wichita, KS 67226 and/or Botanica, The Wichita Gardens, 701 Amidon Street, Wichita, KS 67203. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
