So Sad to hear Nancy passed. We were sailors with them at NYC sailing club at Cheney and then attended her classes for a long long time with fellow students Judith Pearson, Shiela Bazil and Sherry Hoffman among others.  I enjoyed her company and Franks for years. We also lost our son, Curt, the same time frame as Kirk. Both my children, Curtis and Christa were friends of his. A very sad time for us as it is for you now.

Dear sweet Aunt Nancy, I am sad that you have left this world, but it is comforting to know that you are no longer confused about where you are living and no longer in any physical discomfort. I have years and years of very fond memories that include meeting you, Uncle Frank, Craig, Terri and Kirk at grandma and grandpa Kemper’s cabin in the Ozarks every summer, coming to visit every summer, going out for Shakees (?) pizza and ice cream. Oh, and going to Joyland park and riding the teacups with  Terri.

Across the years other fond memories include being amazed when you began painting and then sculpting. I had never ever met a real artist before and was very proud of you. Going to the Wichita Zoo for the dedication of your sculptures was amazing. The sculptures for the blind are a legacy Terri and Craig’s children, grandchildren and greats beyond can cherish forever. I know the display of the mother fox and her young kits  was one that you were particularly proud of.

Another memory that stands out is when my best friend Yum and I came down for a weekend and we brought live Maine lobster. I was under the impression that you loved lobster but had no idea that you would be totally appalled by the act of cooking the lobsters. I think you ended up leaving the kitchen while we did that and it was very distressful for you. 

I need to thank Terri for carrying forth in her brothers’ absence to care for you and keep you safe while you endured the “McGolgin brain” that you so feared. You would be and I know are, very proud of her.

I have felt honored to be in the Kemper and Sawyer clans, and miss every single one of my aunts and uncle’s on both sides of my parents family who have passed away. I recently lost my Aunt Dot, who was my last Sawyer Aunt. It saddens me that I no longer have a living aunt or uncle.

Please know that you will remain in the hearts of all your nephews (Tom, Bruce, Randy, Rodger) and (favorite) niece...me, Forever!!!

So many memories growing up spending time in Wichita for days at a time in the summer.  I always felt at home there with Aunt Nancy and my cousins. I don't remember Nancy ever being cross or impatient.  As an adult, Nancy came out to visit us in Vermont during the fall foliage season.  She was duly impressed with the colors and covered bridges.  I continue to cherish her painting of the sunset from the Ozark Kemper cabin.  Rest - in peace - our beloved Aunt Nancy.

What great memories that I  have of Nancy.  Some 70 years of memories.   I don't remember how or when I met her but it was when we were in High School.  She went to East High and I went to North High school in Wichita Kansas.she introduced me to Bill her brother and later my husband of 50 years  years. I am so pleased 😁 I have 4 of her Sculptures.
I will miss her.  Gloria Kemper (sister-in-law.



So many fond memories.  Making sand castles in Riverside Park on water she diverted. Watching her paint and sculpt with passion and purpose.  Hearing stories of Dad and brother Tom, my namesake. Seeing her finish the painting of mom and dad  that all of us kids wished we had now.  Listening to her frustration after many attempts to fire and harden into bronze the giraffe sculpture when the animal's legs kept breaking  but then the joy when the mold held and she had a masterpiece.   She was the most talented artist I ever knew.  Rest peacefully, aunt Nancy.
