She graduated from West High School in 1956 and soon after, married Tom Beard on June 3, 1956 and they had three daughters right away. Julie was born in May 1957, Nancy in February of 1959, Maryanne in May of 1960, and daughter Kathie was a welcomed surprise and was born in October 1967.
Rosalie was a homemaker for the early years of their marriage before taking on several part-time jobs including as a sales clerk at Cloth World Fabric Store and a waitress for Mike’s Steak House and in August of 1975, she began a long and rewarding career as a secretary for Kelly Elementary School. During her tenure here, she also worked part-time at Tom’s home inspection business, TFB Building Inspections, and after retiring from Kelly Elementary in July of 1996, she became full-time with Tom’s business until finally retiring in November of 2016.
There wasn’t much she didn’t love, but some she especially loved were: Jesus and time with family at their get-togethers during Christmas and Thanksgiving. Next to that, she and Tom were decade’s long, huge fans of the Kansas City Chiefs. She also enjoyed watching Kansas State football, Wichita State basketball and was a Wichita Wings Soccer season ticket holder for approximately 20 years. And we can’t forget, America, Diet Pepsi, and potato chips.
Along with those mentioned, Rosalie loved to sew and was an awesome seamstress. She made wedding dresses for all of her daughters, suits for Tom, dresses and clothes for the grandkids and she also loved to knit, making baby blankets that have and will continue to be cherished by many.
A life well lived and memories made to be cherished.
