Roy Phillips

Phillips, Roy, 87, of Wichita, Kansas passed away peacefully on Thursday the 2nd of July, 2015 in Wichita. Roy was born on December 14, 1927 the fifth of six children born to Elmer “Doc” and Gaye Phillips in Hickory Ridge, Arkansas. Roy and Irene Phillips were united in marriage in Wichita. Together they celebrated 42 years of marriage before her passing in 2013. He learned at a very young age the value of hard work and passed along his dedication to a job well done to his sons. Roy loved Jesus, his family, and babies. He and his wife ran a daycare in their home for many years, and loved each and every child who came under their care. Roy is survived by sons, Tony Phillips of Wichita, Gregory (Susan) Phillips of Wichita and Brian David (Michelle) Phillips of Lafayette, Oregon, and grandchildren, Scott Phillips, Christine Phillips, Ryan Phillips and Jordan Phillips. Memorial services for Roy will be 2pm on Wed. the 8th of July, 2015 at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Memorials have been established with the Wichita Children’s Home, 810 N.
