Lance, Ruth Charlene, 93, of Wichita, KS passed away on Tues. Aug. 26, 2014 at Larksfield Place Health Care in Wichita. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John F. Lance, Jr. in 1999. She is survived by sister, Martha Hobson, daughters, Linda (Sanford) Greenberg, Jane (James) Taylor, and son John F. Lance, III (Sheryl), 6 grandchildren Peter (Melanie) Deardorff, Lance (Dr. Valerie) Deardorff, Erin (Ward) Svarvari, Spencer Taylor and fiancé Addie Petersen, Dustin (Britney) Hanes, Darcy (Morgan) McNeal, 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was a member of Hillside Christian Church and PEO chapter I-EW. She was a talented seamstress and cross-stitcher, winning several blue ribbons and Best of Show at the Kansas State Fair for her work and was an avid knitter and crocheter. Ruth achieved her Master’s degree in Medical Technology from the Pittsburg State University.
