Sherryn was born to Thomas and Wilma Ryan on October 16, 1948, in Fletcher, Oklahoma. She attended Blackwell High School. She retired in 2013 from USD 259 where she worked as a para educator at Sowers Alternative High School.
She was married to Sammy Dickey, November 19, 1968. Her memory and love will be carried on by: her daughters, Stephanie (Bob) Forgey of Pottsboro, Texas; Stacie (Richard) Dickey-Collins; Sheila Dickey of Rose Hill, Kansas; brother, Mike (Kaye) Ryan of Choctaw, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Glenda Ryan of Ponca City, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Sherryn was welcomed home by: her husband of 34 years, Sammy Dickey; parents, Wilma Aytes and Thomas Ryan; brother, Danny Ryan; sister, Debbie Hensley; great-granddaughter, Farrah Pendland; and partner of 19 years, Marion Morris.
Sherryn loved looking for bargains at Goodwill, never passed up a chance to garage sale or spend time with her family. She lived a life filled with love, laughter and a deep commitment to her family and friends. Her passing will leave a profound void in the hearts of those who knew her and will be missed by many.
Sherryn doesn’t want us to mourn her death, instead at her request celebrate her coming home to her Savior in casual attire. It’s a PJ celebration.
A visitation for Sherryn will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023, at 9:00 AM at Resthaven Mortuary with a graveside service following at 10 AM in Resthaven's Gardens of Memory: Garden of Love, both at 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209. A memorial service, with reception, will directly follow the graveside at Rose Hill Victory Church, 326 E. School St., Rose Hill, KS 67133. All are welcome.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ResthavenMortuary-Cemetery.com for the Dickey family.
