Shirley wanted a baby brother, her brother, Donald, came along, December 1937. Shirley was always very protective of her brother, even as they grew older. The family moved to Wichita in 1940 and around Wichita through the years. Shirley graduated from East High in 1952. Soon after she went to work at Boeing, she was employed there for 35 years, because of her dependability and attention to detail she advanced to a lead position. She was responsible for the Parts Control Area. She was well respected at work. Even before retiring in January 1991, Shirley enjoyed several interests that included, raising and riding horses with the family, Shocker basketball, and going on trips with Don, his wife, Jennifer and two children (Bryce and Stephanie). Trips included Branson, Holiday Island, and Colorado. If she could drive, she would want to. Shirley always had a love for cars, she purchased an Oldsmobile Aurora in 2002, a car ahead of its time. After her Mother and Father passed away she purchased a home in Andover. She lived alone while still driving her Aurora, driving until March 5th 2020. Shirley usually met with Don and family on the weekends for dinner. Shirley was a woman of grit and LOVE for her family.
