Susan A Plikuhn

Susan A. Plikuhn, age 67, peacefully passed away on February 28, 2025. She was born on November 15, 1957, to parents Richard D. and Janet A. (Kufahl) Appley in Laurium, Michigan. Susan married Edward J.H. Plikuhn on September 29, 1990, in Wichita, KS, and they celebrated a loving 34 years until his passing in 2015.

Susan was a dedicated and long-term employee of both Boeing and Spirit AeroSystems, where she worked until her retirement. Outside of her professional life, she enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time outdoors. Above all, Susan was a wonderful mother and grandmother and deeply devoted to her Catholic faith.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, parents, brother Steve Appley and a granddaughter. Survived by her children James I. Brock (Erin), Richard T. Brock (Jennifer), Edward V.H. Plikuhn (Angela), Heather St. Pierre (Kevin), and Erik J. Plikuhn (Erin), Sister Cynthia A. Milam, Brother Gary Appley (Carol), as well as 5 Grandsons, and 7 Granddaughters.

A Funeral Mass will take place on April 11, 2025 at 1:00 PM. It will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, located at 3005 Country Club Road, New Bern, NC 28562.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Dementia Society of America.
