

Teresa was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was always willing to put others first and was a constant source of love and support for her family and friends. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. Teresa spent much of her life dedicated to nursing in long-term care, where she provided compassionate care to countless individuals. Throughout her nursing career, she mentored nurses and staff, leaving a lasting impact on those she worked with. Teresa was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, rarely missing a game.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, William and Thelma Putnam; her husband of more than 25 years, Herman Wendell Barber II; her brother, William “Bill” Putnam; and her granddaughter, Sofie Robles.
Teresa is survived by her sons, Jeremiah Marling (Tracy) and Joshua Hunt; daughters, Jennifer Patterson (Jeff) and Jamie Case (Tommy); grandchildren, Baily Case, Jacob Yost, William Marling, Gracie Case, Scott Patterson, Tyler Patterson, Michael Marling, and Teresa Marling; as well as one great-grandchild, Rosalia Case. She is also survived by her siblings, Dianne McCarthy (John), Dave Putnam (Tracy), Nan Putnam, Jack Putnam, and sister-in-law Judy Putnam, along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.
A funeral service for Teresa will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 14, 2025, with a visitation one hour prior, at Lakeview Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in the Garden of Holy Rosary, 12100 East 13th Street North, Wichita, Kansas 67206.
