

When Thanh was 10 years old he went to live with his uncle in My Tho, Vietnam. He finished his schooling there and went onto college. He was married in 1964 to Lan Phuong Nguyen. After college he went into the military serving as a Lieutenant in the South Vietnamese Army and served until he was honorably discharged in 1968. He became a math teacher after his years in service and settled in Rach Gia, Vietnam until 1980. Thanh left Vietnam for the Philippines by boat with his sons and then came to America in 1982 and resided in Garden City, Kansas, eventually made his home in Wichita, Kansas. Working about 5 years doing multiple jobs to support his family, in order to sponsor his wife, daughters, son-in-law and grandson to join him in America. He later went on to work at Cessna, retiring in 1998. Thanh enjoyed his retirement mostly spending time with his family.
Thanh dedicated his life to working hard, supporting his family, making sure his wife and children were well taken care of.
His wife Lan Phuong Nguyen survives him, and also his children Christina (Khanh Phan) Le, Victoria Le, Huy (Jennie) Le, Vu (Angelie) Le, Helen Le, Tiffany (Vincent Thuy Nguyen) Le; grandchildren Hai Dang Le Phan, Ivy Le Phan, Angelina Le Phan, Bryan Khai Nguyen, Brianna Nicole Nguyen, Ethan Vinh Le, Nathaniel Minh Le, Sophie My Tien Le, Nikki Thuy Tien Le, Amy Nhu Huynh, Vivian Nhi Huynh, Tiffany Cat Tuong Huynh; Landon Lam Nguyen, Ava Bao Chau Nguyen; siblings Dep Thi Le, Viet Van Le, Hue Thi Le, Tranh Thi Le, Dung Van Le, Hung Thanh Le, Nguyet Thi Minh Le.
