Thelma L Anderson
16 febrero , 1923 – 20 junio , 2020
Thelma L Anderson, 97, departed this life June 20, 2020. Thelma recently resided at Brookdale Senior Living in Round Rock, Texas. She was born in Ness County, Kansas and spent much of her life in Maize, Kansas until moving to the Austin area to be near her daughter Gwen Kingery.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R Anderson, her parents Maurice and Nellie Dubbs and granddaughter Christie Klatt Smoyer. She leaves her daughters Gwen Kingery and Coleen Klatt of Austin, grandson Scott Dalrymple (wife Melissa) and two great grandchildren-twins Ainsley and Wesley of Austin and great grandsons Logan and Lucas Smoyer of Kansas City.
Thelma and Don were married June 16, 1946 and lived together in Kansas until Don died in 2001. About 10 years ago she moved to Texas. Church life was so very important to Don and Thelma. They were both members of Maize United Methodist Church and held many church offices, and Thelma was very active in UMW. They both retired from the Board of Education in Wichita. Thelma loved her work with Hospice and in later years became an EMT.
Thelma will be buried next to Don at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Wichita, Kansas.

Seeing this picture brought back so many happy memories. Going to Maize for holidays was always special and I will never forget Aunt Thelma's smile (beautifully captured in this picture) and her oh-so-soft voice that was a perfect reflection of her remarkable kindness.
As I get older I realize how much of an accomplishment it was for her to become an EMT at the age she did, but it was just another way for her to help others.
My deepest sympathy to all and thanks for the memories

A lifetime of memories began at the Wichita YWCA in the early 1940's with a friendship between Betty Anderson and Thelma Dubbs. Betty, the matchmaker, introduced her brother, Don, to her friend Thelma. Don returned the favor by introducing his sister Betty to his friend Eldon Hutchins. Courtship, love and many years of happy married life followed for both couples. I believe Thelma would have been my mother's life long friend even if she hadn't become her sister-by-marriage. And that's the story of how my much loved Aunt Thelma became part of the Anderson family. We will miss your beautiful smile and your loving heart.

I’m so sad to hear of Thelma’s passing. I have such fond memories of her and Don at Maize United Methodist Church. She had such a kind heart and her smile could warm a room. My deepest condolences to her family.
