2 Timothy 4:7 New Kings James Version ~ "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." ~ Well done Valerie, my good and faithful servant. Rest in Jesus, my love. No more suffering.
Valerie Ann Hepler-Aladieff passed away peacefully in her sister's arms at 5:36am on Thursday,
November 17, 2022. She was surrounded by family and friends during her final days.
She was born to Jim and Marty Hepler on October 12, 1979, in Wichita, KS. She graduated from Wichita West High School in 1998 and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Friends University in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing in 2006.
Valerie had a passion for life and an adventurous spirit. Growing up, she loved boarding the train with her family as they traveled to see family in Ohio and San Diego. In 2006, Valerie met a young man from Hawaii on EHarmony.com. Konstantin Aladieff and Valerie were married on May 10, 2008. In May 2009, they welcomed their first-born Aidan James and in November 2011, they welcomed Anabelle Grace. Valerie loved being a wife and a mom, sharing her love of Disney movies with them, (especially Alice in Wonderland), taking trips to Hawaii and visiting Disneyland and the Aulani. She also had a great talent to play the flute as it brought her comfort throughout her life and was also a part of the Central Community Church's orchestra.
In 2016, Valerie began training for a triathlon she signed up for at the YMCA. Her hard work paid off and she completed her very first race in January 2017 in one hour, 4 minutes!! In May 2017, a new chapter began for Valerie and her family. After struggling with breathing issues, bronchitis and pneumonia, a biopsy revealed Valerie had Stage IV Lung Cancer. Doctors recommended a new immunotherapy chemo treatment to fight this type of cancer. The first day she arrived at the 818 Building, (the Cancer Treatment Center), she felt a sense of calmness and peace with the group of nurses and doctors that became part of her cancer journey. The family was welcomed with open arms in the waiting area by one of the volunteers, Jean from Victory in the Valley, who soon became Valerie's mentor. They both had the honor of leading their very first Lung Cancer Support Group and met some incredible individuals fighting the same battle, this horrible, awful Lung Cancer.
Valerie dug her heels into The Bible, reading and praying scriptures, researching how to fight cancer and how to homeschool her children. In August 2017, her kitchen table became a new learning space for Aidan and Anabelle. Each day began with prayer, praise and worship and learning. She loved watching and answering questions her children would ask as they discovered the world around them. Valerie's musical talents were passed down to her kids. They both learned how to play guitar and piano and most of all, she loved listening them sing to God.
During her 5-year battle, she fought cancer, became a homeschool teacher and enjoyed fellowship at Asbury Church. She developed friendships all over the United States, sharing her story, becoming a voice for Lung Cancer, praying over those recently diagnosed, and sharing the word of God.
Valerie is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Charles and Eva Hepler; maternal grandparents Fred and Carmen Torres and her brother, Paul Myshka.
She is survived by her husband Konstantin; mother, Marty Hepler; father and step-mother, Jim and Karen Hepler; father-in-law and mother-in-law Constantine and Fairlene Aladieff; sister Vicki (Mike) Malone; sister-in-law Esther Aladieff and husband Dean Stevens; brother-in-law, Nicolai Aladieff; Aunt Liz (Pete) Lekus; Uncles Steven (Terry) Torres and Eddie Hepler; niece, Alyssa (Joe) Gisick; nephews Logan (Emily) Gisick, Cody (Tory) Gisick and Alex Aladieff and her furbabies, Lucky and Freckles.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Asbury Church,
2801 N. 15th St. N., Wichita, KS 67203.

The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, volunteers, Asbury Church and the many friends who prayed, provided meals, and looked over Valerie during her cancer journey. Thank you for being faithful servants of God. She loved each one of you.
