Virginia Mae "Ginny" Doesken

Doesken, Virginia Mae “Ginny”, 93, of Wichita, Kansas passed away peacefully on Sunday March 19, 2017 in Wichita. Ginny was born the daughter of Herman and Johanna Weitlich on June 9, 1923 in Saint Joseph, Missouri. Ginny and Wil were united in marriage on July 11, 1945 in Saint Joseph. Together they celebrated 54 years of marriage before his passing on February 27, 1999. She was a Christian wife and mother. Ginny was a homemaker, taught Sunday School and sang in the Wichita Chapter of Sweet Adelines. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Elaine Wukasch, Marion Whitmore. Survivors include her loving children, Carol (Ron) Balke, Nancy (Joe) Brennan, Don (Debbie) Doesken, Shirley Jenkins, John “J.D.”(Judy) Doesken, Mark (Deb) Doesken, Darrell (Mary Beth) Doesken and Jim Doesken, siblings, Richard (Debbie) Weitlich, Charlotte Robinson, 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 21, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday March 22, 2017 at Risen Savior Lutheran Church, 6770 E. 34th St. N., Wichita. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita. Memorials can be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 3310 E. Pawnee, Wichita.
