Conder, Vonnona, 86, passed away on June 27, 2015. Vonnona grew up on a farm in Hardesty, OK, where she graduated high school. She then attended school at Panhandle State and Central State before becoming a first grade teacher for 39 years at Stanley Elementary School in Wichita, KS. After retirement she volunteered at Via Christi St. Joe Hospital. She enjoyed attending Osage Golden Age Club where she sat tables and took tickets weekly for pitch games and dances. As a kid, Vonnona loved listening to the radio, and spent many years after retirement listening to KFDI while eating breakfast and drinking coffee every morning. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and husband, Orville K. Conder. Vonnona is survived by: daughter, Kathie (Marvin) Segers of Wellington, KS; sister and brother-in-law, Emma Leta and Leroy Morris of Pampa, TX; granddaughter, Katrina Segers Cirusse and her husband, Pierre-Olivier Cirusse of Shawnee, KS; grandson, Marc Segers of Wichita, KS; 2 nieces, 1 nephew, and 7 grand nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7 from 6-8 PM with funeral service on Wednesday, July 8 at 1:00 PM, both at Resthaven Mortuary.
