Wanda Louise Dooley, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, went home to be with the Lord on October 21, 2016. She was warm, caring, and had a servant’s heart. Wanda was active in church and loved the Lord. She was a creative woman with wide-ranging interests and talents: she was an excellent seamstress, making quilts and crafting other items for Starkey’s yearly fundraisers. She knitted and crocheted and shared that activity with her grandchildren. She enjoyed woodworking, and had a zest for finding antique furniture and refinishing it. Wanda was born April 26, 1930, the daughter of Lewis H. and Jane (Eads) Barnes. She grew up in Milton, KS and Wichita. She graduated from North High School. She is survived by her best friend and husband of 67 years, Jimmy L. Dooley and children Jane Dooley, Buddy (Rockelle) Dooley, and Mickey Dooley, grandchildren Amy (Jeff) Williams of Valley Center, KS, Kate Dooley (Damon Conover) of Silver Spring, MD, and Kelly Dooley of Overland Park, KS, great-grandchildren Payton and Avery Williams, and sister Jane Barnette of Newton, KS. She was well loved. Funeral services will be 10am on Tuesday October 25, 2016 at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Burial will follow at White Chapel Cemetery in Wichita. Memorials have been established in her name and loving memory with Starkey Inc., 4500 W. Maple St., Wichita, KS 67209.
