Wanda Lea Hewitt, age 91, a longtime resident of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on Sunday morning, February 18, 2024. Born on February 22, 1932, in Harrisonville, Missouri, Wanda was a kind and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Wanda loved the outdoors, camping, plants, crafts, and puzzle books. She especially enjoyed animals: her beloved cat Buddy, her dog Otto, and many squirrels in the neighborhood. May she Rest in Peace.
Wanda is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Morris E. Hewitt (Junior); mother and father, Marion Oscar and Anna Crisp; brother, Ronald Crisp; sisters, Betty Sutton and Alice McMillin.
She is survived by her children and their spouses- Gary and Donna Dick, Steven and Dayna Hewitt, and Bradley and Karolyn Hewitt. Brothers, Dennis Crisp and his wife Evelyn, and her brother Lyman. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas. Graveside Service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Wichita, in the Garden of Good Shepherd. A Celebration of Life will follow at Sunflower Shelter at Sedgwick County Park beginning at 1:00 pm. Lunch will be provided.
