May 29, 1964 – April 19, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ransey R Hill, 60, in The Villages, FL on April 19, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ransey was born in Lebanon, New Hampshire on May 29, 1964. He is pre-deceased by his father, Urban Pond. He is survived by his husband of thirty-four years, Thomas Weeks. Also survived by his mother, Norma (Bennett) Pond, his brother Jeffrey (Darla) Pond, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and countless friends he made along his journey.
Growing up in a military family, Ransey lived in Germany, Missouri, North Carolina, Hawaii, and New Hampshire. He called New Hampshire home for most of his life, living in Campton from 1993 to 2024.
Ransey spent most of his career as a State of NH employee where he held many positions across several agencies. He retired on May 30, 2024.
Ransey and Tom spent many years camping and owned nearly every type of camper/RV available. They spent several years at Lake Forest Resort in Wakefield NH where Ransey developed his love for golf.
On May 31, 2024, he moved to his home in The Villages, FL to spend retirement with his husband. He was excited to move to The Villages where he could golf year-round, nurture his passion for art and photography, and discover new pastimes.
Ransey had many passions. He was a talented watercolorist, avid photographer, and enjoyed playing his guitar and singing for his friends and family, especially if there was a campfire involved. He was always up for a game of cards or a new adventure. He loved traveling, especially to Aruba or on a Caribbean cruise.
Ransey was a kind soul who touched many people and animals. The passing of his beloved fur babies Boomer and Kaylee in 2021 affected him deeply as he gave 100% of himself to all his relationships. He was genuine, caring, and loving. To know him was to love him. He made it easy.
