He was preceded in death by his parents (Van and Marjorie), sister (Jewel Jordan), and brother (Charlie McClung).
He was born in Montgomery, W.VA. and moved to Oviedo, FL at age thirteen, where he met and married his life-long love and raised his family. He and his wife owned and operated a sod and landscaping company for 21 years, and a cattle operation for 20 years, moving it from Florida to Georgia in 1992. They returned to Florida in 2021.
Following family tradition, he joined the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War, where he was exposed to Agent Orange, which ultimately led to his demise. Despite great challenges throughout his illness, his love of country remained strong.
He was known by all as an avid hunter and fisherman, catching his last big bass just one and a half hours before taking his last breath.
He dedicated his life to God as a child and found great peace in his faith. He was currently a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Fruitland Park, FL.
His most prized possession was his family, whom he protected fiercely, provided for with honor, and loved with unparalleled warmth and devotion.
We will carry you forever in our hearts and memories.
