I still think of Ann every now and again. We attended water walking classes together and spent hours talking about the world, her children, her dog, and anything else that came to mind. Though I only knew her a few years, she quickly became a role model. She is missed. 

I was an active public schools advocate when Ann Kahn served on the Fairfax County School Board. She was an outstanding leader who handled controversial issues with courage and grace, and  she played a major role in developing our excellent school system. 

Ann was also a warm friend and a generous mentor. Although it was many years ago, I am still grateful to have had a chance to work with her and learn from her.

I work for National PTA and while I did not know Ms. Kahn personally, I know that she is remembered with great fondness  in the office.  We filmed a beautiful interview with her a few years ago and what she shared and how she portrayed National PTA is both beautiful and inspiring. It is not easy to say good-bye to one of our own but who she is will be remembered always.  Our condolences to her family and our thanks for understanding her passion for all children.  As part of our Past National Presidents, she will be remembered always.  Many blessings.

Ann was such a lovely and talented lady.  It was wonderful to have her as part of the Williamsburg community.  She will be missed.

What an inspiration Ann was to everyone at the Rec Center water classes.  Seldom missed class, always a friendly smile for everyone, and how she managed to look so good, with her earrings and lipstick each morning!  She will be missed but never forgotten.

Ann Kahn was a wonderful woman!  We have known her for years.  She regularly opened her home for the League of Women Voters Williamsburg Area (LWV-WA) Christmas Party.  We saw her each year at the LWVWA Great Decisions Program.  She was always pleasant and up to date on what was happening in the community, the state, the country, and the world.  She was clearly very proud of her family.  She represents a tremendous loss to all.  Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.

Remember going to ya'lls home and hanging out when I was just a youngster.  "Mrs Kahn"  was always so nice and friendly.  The relationship she had with my folks was a special one. Much love and condolences to your families, Nancy and David. May her memory be a blessing. 

I met Ann at the Rec Center as we both took water walking/exercise classes together on the same day and time for a long while. She and I hit it off immediately and I admired her immensely. She became my hero. I wanted to be her as I aged. I loved her love of life and family, her dog, and her willingness to share her history. She was so proud of her children and of her accomplishments.  I loved my talks with her. I looked forward to them. I haven't seen Ann in a couple years and have often wondered how she was doing. Godspeed, Ann. 

To Nancy and David,

Paul and I understand the grief and sadness you and your families are  feeling with your mother’s passing.  As time goes by, hopefully this pain will lessen and be replaced by happy memories.  

I have to tell you, I’m imagining Heaven is about to become livelier with Norma, Helen, Rita and now Ann back together again!  This image brings a smile to my face!  I hope it will to yours as well.
