Audrey graduated from Washington & Lee H. S. in Arlington, VA and went on to attend Radford University where she met LeRoy T. Burrows, a student attending nearby Virginia Tech. After several moves in the US and Europe, they eventually settled into the family friendly community of Queens Lake, located in Williamsburg, VA.
Audrey was best-known as a caring and kind-hearted spouse, mother, sibling, friend, and relative and always had a positive and lasting influence on the many people that had the good fortune to know her.
She was very active in support of all aspects of her husband's work and military responsibilities as well as her children's sports and extracurricular activities such as girl scouts, cub scouts, tennis, soccer, baseball, softball, golf, basketball, swimming and the Fife and Drum corps. Audrey was a member of Bruton Parish Church, a past president of the Williamsburg Cotillion Club, and a well-respected community volunteer. She was a gracious hostess, endearing her to all.
Audrey was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Keith (Hannah), sister, Janet; niece, Rose; and nephew, Tony. She is survived by her husband Roy; children, Michael (Kim), Sharon (Wayne), Christopher (Kara); and her six grandchildren, whom their "Grammie" adored.
During her last 5 months, Audrey was receiving care from At Home Care Hospice as well as the staff at Spring Arbor of Williamsburg where she gave and received much love. A private celebration of life will take place at Capon Springs, West Virginia, a special place to Audrey and her family for 45 years. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations are made in her memory to the Capon Springs Historical Preservation Fund, Capon Springs & Farms, 3818 Capon Springs Rd., High View, WV 26808 (www.caponsprings.net) Attention: Jonathan Bellingham.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.NelsenWilliamsburg.com for the Burrows family.
