

Audrey attended Macedonia Baptist Church where she participated in many Youth Group activities. As a Girl Scout she attended many events. In her youth and early adult life she was a sharpshooter in High School and at the local range. While in High School she wanted to help the sick, so she began her career as a Candy Striper at Mt. Vernon Hospital.
Audrey graduated from Mt. Vernon High School and continued her education at Bronx Community College. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Siena Heights University, Williamsburg, VA.
Audrey was very passionate about her job as a nurse in the operating room at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center. She retired from her position after 20 years.
Audrey met the love of her life Rev. Lewis Harris, Jr., and they were married. After they were married, she joined Anderson Memorial C.O.G.I.C, where she taught the youth in Sunday School. Moving to Virginia, she became a member of New Hope C.O.G.I.C, Bishop Herman Clark, pastor, in Newport News, VA.
Audrey was introduced to music at an early age, when taking piano lessons in Mt. Vernon, NY. She carried that same love when she moved to Williamsburg, VA. Audrey fell in love with the harp and took lessons at ODU. She joined a group at New Zion Baptist Church, Dr. Whitehead, pastor, and would accompany him on speaking engagements.
She also had a love for reading and was a member of the Williamsburg Library, with a collection of over 150-200 books, novels, and poetry. Her favorite poet was Maya Angelou.
Audrey and her husband were excited to start their new life together in Williamsburg, VA. They traveled to many places in the United States and overseas enjoying the people and historical sites.
She enjoyed reading her Bible and her Bible Study Group. Audrey will always be remembered by her family and friends as a loving, compassionate person.
Audrey is survived by her husband of 37 years, Rev. Lewis Harris, Jr. She leaves behind her brothers, Issac Wilson, Jr., Howard Wilson, and Elvin Wilson; and sister, Joan Banks; and a host of nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her stepchildren, Lewis Harris III, Derek J. Harris and wife, Zella Michelle Harris; and grandson, Derek Harris, Jr. They meant the world to her. Her favorite role was being a grandparent. She treasured their time together.
She is preceded in death by Verdell Wilson, Lindell Wilson and Daniel Wilson. She will see them soon in her Heavenly Home.
Audrey had many family and friends throughout her life. At Church, her community, and at work—she will be truly missed. Her memory will live in the hearts of all who loved her.
