She was born in San Antonio, Texas, and was the daughter of the late Joe T. Duke and Nona G. Duke, sister of the late Joan J. Blessing. She was also the beloved wife to the late Alanson (Al) Whitney for 63 years.
Betty is survived by her children, Thomas (Cassie) Whitney, Sherry (John) Sanderson; grandchildren, Kirk (Erica) Whitney, Miranda (Matthew) Barlow, Kyle (Brooke) Whitney, Justin (Jen) and Jonathan Sanderson; and nine great-grandchildren. We will all miss you Meme!
She worked as a health aid in Montgomery Co., MD public schools for 24 years, and volunteered at Colonial Williamsburg.
She loved decorating her homes and her hobbies included wreaths, flower arrangements, gardening, sewing, playing Bunko, spending time with her family and friends.
