Brian Rogers Bower

Dr. Brian R. Bower, Ed.D., a resident of Williamsburg, VA, originally of LeRoy, NY, passed away on November 27, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Vivian Bower; and brothers, Bruce Bower, Barry Bower, and Roland “Bud” Bower, Jr. Following 33 years of service in the New York School System, Dr. Bower retired as the superintendent of the Mount Markham Central School District in West Winfield, NY. He volunteered at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Hospital driving the golf cart and served on the Patient Family Advisory Board. Dr. Bower was a member of Ford’s Colony Country Club where he enjoyed golfing. He also enjoyed his daily cocktails with Kate. He also liked reading and Sudoku puzzles and had a fondness for traveling to Hilton Head Island and Chautauqua Lake in New York. Dr. Bower is survived by his wife, Katherine; sons, Scott Bower and his wife, Debbie, Ken Bower and his wife, Michelle and Keith Bower and his wife, Melanie; daughter, Bonnie Springborn; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his siblings, Candice Bower, Robin Bower and wife, Mary and Craig Bower and wife, Pat; as well as many nieces and nephews. He also leaves a community of loving and caring friends. A service will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, VA on Saturday, December 1 at 1pm.
