Carey was an electronic technician for both the Norfolk International and Newport News Airports. He had a passion for anything electrical and he loved to tinker, taking things apart to see how they worked. He was equally handy at woodworking. Always active and going, Carey loved to learn. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was especially fond of organic gardening, and recycled anything he could, earning himself the nickname “Mulch King.”
He was a long time member of Williamsburg United Methodist Church.
Carey is survived by his wife, Carolyn Bristow Adams; sons, Tom Adams, Mike Adams, and Steve Adams (Karen); daughter, Sharon Adams; and grandchildren, Brian, Nicole, Victoria, Cody, Sam, and Kevin.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Nelsen Funeral Home, Williamsburg. A private burial will be held at Williamsburg Memorial Park. Online condolences may be shared at www.nelsenwilliamsburg.com.
