

Clara Allison Mayfield, a longtime resident of Williamsburg, passed away after a brief illness on March 11, 2016. A native Texan, she was born to Gilbert and Jewel Allison and became a high school English teacher for 37 years.
She was a longtime and very proud devoted member of the Williamsburg United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband of 42 years, Fred W. Mayfield, to various countries such as Italy, Mexico and South America. Clara was also a member and past president of the Williamsburg Lady Lions Auxiliary in addition to being an active member of several service organizations assisting the community and an artist.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred W. Mayfield; son Thomas V. Allison; brother Paul Ray Allison; and her parents, Gilbert and Jewel Allison. Survivors include; daughter Kathy Cawthon (Roger) and step daughter Christine Howard (Ron); grandchildren Ryan and Reid Corbett and Lauren and Ty Howard.
Visitation to be held Wednesday, March 16th from 5-8pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd, Williamsburg. The service will be held Thursday, March 17th at 2pm at Williamsburg United Methodist Church, 500 Jamestown Rd., Williamsburg.
