Cora Virginia Sweeney, of Williamsburg, passed away on July 4, 2013 at the age of 70. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dollie and Howard Adkins; two brothers, Kenny and Buddy Adkins; a sister, Nancy Sheppard; and a granddaughter, Samantha Bias.
Cora loved the Lord and her family. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren, bingo, gambling, and dancing.
Remaining to cherish her memory are her children, Monica Lawrence and her husband, Todd; and George Sweeney, Jr. and his fiancé, Kelly Smith; five grandchildren, Heather Bias, Brandon Sweeney, Justin Bias, Ashley Lawrence, and Brittany Lawrence; her brothers, Ernie and Harlan Adkins; her sister, Sue Pridemore; and her best friend, Oona Hobson.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 7 at 4 PM with visitation one hour prior at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd, Williamsburg, VA.
