Edward John Bayer

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, December 31st at St. Bede’s Catholic Church. Father Kauffmann of St. Bede’s Catholic Church will be officiating. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Nelsen Funeral Home.

Ed was born and raised on May 29, 1937. He graduated Long Island University. His career was in Finance for the Federal Government. Upon retirement from the government, Ed relocated to Williamsburg, Virginia

Ed volunteered his time as a docent at The Museum in Colonial Williamsburg. He was a member of Ford’s Colony MGA for 18 years. Ed was an avid reader and a member of a men’s book club which met monthly. Ed was also a member of the ROMEO’s, Retired Old Men Eating Out, a group of friends who met for lunch every week.

Ed is survived by his loving wife Ann and enjoyed being both a step-father and grandfather to his new family.

Ed is preceded in death by his first wife, Lydia Bayer and his parents Margaret McCann Bayer and Edward Bayer Sr.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to The Heritage Humane Society.
