Dr. Howard Browne was a distinguished lifetime Trustee of the Anne S.K. Brown Military Collection at Brown University. His wise counsel, detailed military art knowledge, and collaborative esprit de corps will be sorely missed. For multiple decades he served the ASKB Collection as a calm guiding force.

Howard was Secretary of the USA Branch of the International Military Music Society. I was with Howard at military music events here and in Europe and visited him in Williamsburg several times. Howard will be missed by friends around the country and the world.

Dr. Browne was such an erudite, bon vivant, work colleague and close friend to our family. Their dinner parties, both food and conversation were legendary, extending into the wee hours. Godspeed to a full life, well lived.
