

Jack was born in Urbana, Illinois, on September 25, 1925. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother.
After serving in the U.S. Army during WWII, he came back to Urbana to attend college. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1949. He was a member of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity.
Jack was an internal auditor for United States Steel for 12 yrs., and then became Secretary and Treasurer of Allen and Garcia Co. in Chicago, Illinois. He retired early in 1977 and moved with Betty to Chapel Hill, NC. After a short retirement, he was employed by North Carolina Memorial Hospital in 1978 to establish an Internal Audit Dept. for the hospital. Jack retired again in 1983 and he and Betty moved to Williamsburg in 1984.
He was a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church and a volunteer for Colonial Williamsburg for 25 yrs.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Betty, of 63 yrs.; his son, Robert Gordon (Karen); two grandchildren, Dr. Christie Gordon Truhu (Todd) and Eric R. Gordon; and a nephew and niece.
There will be a memorial service on Friday, May 2, at 2pm, at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, 215 Richmond Rd., Williamsburg, VA 23185.
