

JoAnn Smith, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with Angiosarcoma. She is survived by her devoted husband, sister, her loving son, and her adored grandchildren. JoAnn was preceded in death by her daughter Tina, whom she is now joyfully reunited with.
JoAnn had a passion for baking that she shared with everyone around her. Known for her delicious cookies, pies, and treats, JoAnn’s kitchen was always filled with the sweet aroma of her creations. Her baking was more than a hobby; it was her love language. Through her baked goods, she expressed her deep affection and care for family, friends, and even strangers.
A woman of strong faith and unwavering morals. She was a loving and supportive mother and wife, always carrying her heart on her shoulders. JoAnn brought a unique energy to every room she entered, making her a memorable presence, whether for her kindness or her candidness.
Witnessing JoAnn’s battle with cancer was a painful experience for her family, but they take solace in knowing she is now at peace. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her and through the many lives she touched with her warmth and generosity.
May her spirit continue to inspire and comfort those who knew her.
A visitation for Joann will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, Virginia. A service will occur Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 10:00 AM at James River Baptist Church, 4931 Centerville Road, Williamsburg, Virginia. An interment will occur Thursday, March 13, 2025 at James River Baptist Church, 4931 Centerville Road, Williamsburg, Virginia.
