
She was employed as a hotline operator with the Virginia Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Hotline. She also volunteered for Faith in Action. She had been a dedicated care provider for pets in their homes for the past 12 years. Kay was a warm, loving, and generous person who will be missed by many.
Kay was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Samuel Scardino and her sister, Janet Chaplin Dutton. She is survived by her two grandchildren, Samantha Scardino and Alex Scardino from Rochester, NY; two nieces, Sarah Dutton and husband, David Rockland from New York, NY, and Jennifer Whyte and husband, Dennis and their children, Janet and Dennis from Long Island, NY.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 14, 2013 at 1PM, at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 1333 Jamestown Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23185. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
