She is survived by her brothers, Steve and Gary Lamier, daughter, Suzanne Nicole Brixey, and son, Christopher Brixey, as well as their respective families: Rebecca Lamier, Ody Granados, Zachary Caleb Brixey Granados, Elena Grace Brixey Granados, and Pamela Roganti.
Leah was born on August 13th, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio to Norman Lamier and Stephanie Luska, who have both preceded her in death. She dedicated her life to education, pursuing a degree at Kent State University. Leah started as an elementary school teacher before transitioning into an Education Administrator, serving at both Browne Academy in Alexandria, Virginia and Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, Maryland. After retirement, she lived in Williamsburg, Virginia during the summer and fall before flying off to the beautiful Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
In her free time, Leah loved anything involving the outdoors. Whether that meant being at the pool with a drink in hand and her friends by her side, exploring her second home of Puerto Vallarta, including its Marina, Downtown, and beyond, or staying active through walks with friends and water aerobics, she was happiest surrounded by sunshine and salty air. She constantly built communities, bringing people together through her vibrant personality, her endless love, and her unforgettable cooking. More than anything, Leah loved her family. Spending time with her children and grandchildren, including her iconic Thanksgivings, brought her much joy and many laughs.
Leah Brixey’s memorial service will be held at St. Olaf Catholic Church in Williamsburg, on Thursday August 14, 2025 at 11:00 AM with a visitation at 10:30 AM.
As a testament to her lifelong dedication to education and her eternal love of Puerto Vallarta, her family asks that instead of flowers, donations be made to the Girls Education Fund: Vallarta School for Girls. You may donate at the following link: https://girlsedfund.org/memorial-donation
