

Leo Paul Rogers, Sr. 84, of Williamsburg, VA passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Williamsburg Landing, with his loved ones by his side. He was born on February 23, 1932 in Bronx, New York. After graduating high school he joined the Navy Reserves. A man who believed in strong work ethic, he became employed by Citibank at the age of 16 and retired after 42 years of dedicated service. During this time he also attended NYU where he received his Master's degree in Finance. On May 23, 1954 he met his best friend, soul mate, and love of his life, Rose Garofalo. They were married almost 62 years until his passing.
He had many hobbies that included bridge and soon became a Life Master, enjoyed crossword puzzles, history enthusiast and financial advisor to family and friends
He is survived by his loving wife, Rose Rogers of Williamsburg and their beloved pet Marty; children, Lynda (Bill) Kleiwerda of Williamsburg, Lorraine Linzenberg of Mahwah, NJ and Leo Paul (Kim) Rogers, Jr. of Leesburg, VA; grandchildren, James Linzenberg, Michelle (Steven) Cusumano, Danielle (Ruben) Diaz, Sarah (Andrew) Kessler, Amy Rogers, Leo Paul Rogers III, Jacob Rogers and Piper Rogers; six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, VA, following a funeral service at 7 p.m.
