He served his Country in the US Air Force for 25 years including duty in Vietnam. He later served as the Budget Director of York County for 13 years. He was a generous man who believed strongly in service to family, and country. He was always known for his beautiful smile and was always ready with a happy comment or interesting story. He will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara Hirsh; his son, “Skip” Leon S. Hirsh, III (his wife Terry); and his daughter “Lori” Barbara Loraine Hirsh.
There will be a memorial service at Patriots Colony at a later date and Leon will be interred at Arlington Memorial Cemetery.
