

Maria E. Silva, of Williamsburg, VA became our angel on October 25, 2015. She was born in Puerto Rico on November 11, 1950, to the late Pedro and Juana Rodriguez. She leaves behind her siblings Mildred Valentin, Joe Rodriguez, Mel Rodriguez, their spouses and children.
Maria was a dedicated RN in many New Jersey, Syracuse, NY and Virginia hospitals as a critical care nurse. She referred to all her patients as “my angels”. She later retired in 2012 from Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield in Syracuse, then returned to Williamsburg, Va in 2014.
She enjoyed cooking, dancing, music, and reading; especially Stephen King and Danielle Steel novels, and spending time with her family at “the Silva Parties.”
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ken Silva and their children Kenton Silva III, Tania and Christopher. She also leaves 4 grandchildren; Saige, Holly Ann, and Lennon Silva (mother Shannon Fogus), and Dominic Silva, (mother Christina Schultz).
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Thursday, October 29, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, from 4PM to 7PM. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 30, at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 104 Norge Ln., Williamsburg, beginning at 10AM.
