
Marilyn Mae Krohn passed away on February 2, 2017 at the age of 87 of lung cancer. She was born on April 9, 1929 in Union Grove Wisconsin. She grew up with her parents Geraldine and Garland Dilley, and her brothers Richard “Dick” Dilley and Chester Dilley. She married Richard “Dick” Roberts and had her first child Sarah Lynn Roberts. Her brother Dick was hit by a drunk driver as a teenager and passed away. Her husband Dick passed away from polio shortly after having their first child.
Marilyn remarried Charles “Chuck” Krohn in 1952. They had three more daughters, Amy Jean, Lisa Jo, and Eden Jeri. Charles adopted Sarah and they raised the four girls.
Marilyn and Charles moved to Norfolk to be closer to their kids. In 2003 they moved to Williamsburg to live with their daughter Eden, son-in-law Rick and grandson Jake.
Marilyn is survived by her four daughters and three son-in-laws: Sarah and her husband John, Amy, Lisa and her husband Mark, and Eden and her husband Rick. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren Jared, Karen, Charissa, Nicole, Rachel, Kyle, Josh and Jake. Finally, she is survived by 13 great-grandchildren and her brother Chester, sister-in-law Lu and sister-in-law Janie, and many nieces and nephews.
Marilyn always had a way of lighting up a room with her jokes and had a contagious laugh. She has been a wonderful matriarch and will be missed by the many of those that she has touched in her long and happy life.
