Mark Edward Johnson

He was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky on July 19, 1959 and was preceded in death by his parents, Burley and Wanda Johnson; brother, Michael Johnson; sisters, Susan Lee and Sabrina Johnson.

Mark graduated from Lafayette High School in 1978. From 1979 to 1983, he served in the United States Coast Guard and later worked as a fiber optic technician for Cox Cable.

Mark was a devoted father who dedicated his life to providing love, guidance, and support to his children and grandchildren.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, DIY projects, puzzles, and watching TV. Mark loved spending time in nature and with his family and friends.

Mark is survived by his son, Jeremy Johnson (Lauren Creech) and grandchildren: Nathan Johnson, Trey Johnson, and Amelia Johnson; daughter, Shannon Atwood and grandchildren: Alexyia “Noodle” Griffin and Jaydene Griffin; nieces, Celine Lee-Abell and Courtney Lee; and nephew, Randall Kierstead.

A visitation will be taking place on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 12:00 PM with a service at 1:00 PM, followed by a reception at Nelsen Funeral Home, Williamsburg, Virginia.
